The World of Westwood Wolves
Choose Your Own Adventure!
Dec. 13-17, 2021
From the principal's office...
We had a busy week at Westwood; several teachers were out at a conference and a training this week to learn more about working in a learning community. We are so excited to always be learners and continue to get better and better for our kids!
Speaking of learning and getting better, Westwood received another award! We were recognized by the Office of Educational Policy for "beating the odds" and being in the top 5% of the state for growth in reading among schools who serve a high percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch. We are so proud of all our Wolves!
If you are interested in having your child attend Camp War Eagle and need help knowing where to start or with the application, please come to the office at 3:30 Tuesday, and we will help.
One more week of learning and fun to go! We will have our December Alpha Awards virtual assembly Tuesday morning, a school-wide pajama day also Tuesday, a sing-along Friday and class parties. When there is so much excitement in the air, it's a great time to remind your kiddos to keep having great character.
We have seen a slight uptick in COVID activity; please be sure and visit the district website reporting links (see below) if a student or someone your student has been around tests positive. Our nurse can also help you with this if needed. If you want your child to continue wearing a mask, you'll need to send them to school with one.
Have a great week!
Love,
Mrs. Crumby (your proud principal)
