Support Our Troops, Recycle Your Cell Phones
Do you have any old or unused cellphones around your house? If you do, Outreach Club is having a cell-phone drive for soldiers both active duty and veterans so they can stay in touch with their families. There will be drop off boxes to collect these in classroom F111; the front office; and the PASS office (across from the Counselors' office). We need your old cell phones to be donated to help keep these soldiers in touch.
Don't forget to order YOUR copy of MelonVine, the WHS yearbook, before the end of October at the discounted price of $75.
Support our TSA students!
TSA has a new community partner! Our local Five Below store has offered to help us raise funds to support our Career & Technology students as they prepare for Regional and State competition. With the attached flyer, 10% of your purchases will be donated to our school chapter of Technology Student Association. This business is sponsoring us with fundraisers every month. Their generous offer is good from Oct. 26 through 31, so shop there for Halloween and other rockin' merchandise while it also benefits our WHS CTE student organization. Click the link and print it off to help us out. Also, give it to everyone you know. http://tinyurl.com/TSAFundraiser
Whiz Quiz Club is still looking for members. We meet during B Block of Mega Lunch on Wednesdays.

Career & Technical Education Students Tour Lockheed Martin
Students from Weatherford High School’s Advanced Animation and Printing & Imaging classes along with several Graphic Design students were treated to a tour of Lockheed Martin on Thursday, October 15 to support their interest in Arts and Audio Visual careers. They were transported down the manufacturing flight line before visiting the Television and Video Production Studio where they viewed some corporate created news and videos of Lockheed’s work around the world. Next, they went through the Animation Department and were allowed to see the different types of animation software used in industry. In the photography studio, they learned about green screens, software, lighting, and other equipment. Finally it was on to the Graphic Arts Department where they were greeted by professionals who shared experiences, knowledge, and a vast array of marketing, public relations, and educational materials. Students were surprised and delighted with an unplanned stop in the Model Design Workshop where craftsmen create 3D models out of materials ranging from wood to titanium. Along the way they were presented information about how to prepare for careers in all of these fields.
Weatherford High School Career & Technical Education is designed to prepare our students for success in the global community. Pictured with the students are Bobbye Moreno, Graphic Design and Printing & Imaging Instructor and Charles Fredrikson, Computer Animation Instructor.
