Mustang Memo April
Nixon-Smiley Middle School
Message from the Principal
NSMS Family,
April is already upon us and this year continues to fly by. Each day, we continue to work towards our goals and reaching our full potential. Please talk with your child about self motivation and perseverance as we push through the end of the school year. It is important that each student is engaged in their learning and motivated to do their best. We will be working hard to make sure your child is prepared for the next grade level and as the rigor continues to increase we need your child to be putting in their best effort in class. When deciding on your child's schedule for next year, we will use their STAAR scores to help determine their classes. That is why we continue to talk to the students about trying their best so that they are placed in the correct classes. Be sure to ask your child how they did on their benchmarks. They should have made goals before taking it and reviewed their scores afterwards to see if they met their goal and review how they did. If you have any more questions about benchmarks, please contact your child's teacher or the middle school office.
Thank you,
Brittany Rogers
