Congratulations Bennett!
Bennett's win means that Melville School will receive a $5,000 grant. Bennett will also get to select a non-profit of his choice to give a $500 grant to as well. He will also receive a surprise set of gifts from The Feinstein Foundation!
We are so grateful the generosity of the Feinstein Foundation and will ensure the funds we have been granted are put towards doing wonderful things for our school family.

We Take Care of Each Other!
Dear Families,
As we approach the holiday season, we recognize that this time of year creates added stress for many of our families. Portsmouth School District’s Caritas Fund, our parent groups, teachers and community organizations are able to offer some of the things needed to help make this a happy season for all.
If you need assistance with any of the items on the back of this letter, and are not planning on receiving assistance from any other organizations, please complete this form and send it back in a sealed envelope addressed to Nicole Pascoe or Donna Powell. If you have children in multiple schools, please only complete 1 form and send it in to the school of your youngest child. Forms need to be returned NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 28, 2022.
Due to the increasing need in our community, we are only able to provide gift cards up to $50 for each child. We are also partnering up with St. John’s Lodge again this year for food baskets. If you are in need of a food basket for either the November or December holiday, please contact them directly at 401-683-0231 as soon as possible.
The Caritas Fund supports our Portsmouth families year round with funds for clothing, food and other basic necessities. This fund is completely supported by the donations from our school department employees and the generosity of our community. Monetary donations and gift cards for this fund are always needed and greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate to help us continue our efforts, checks can be made payable to “The Caritas Fund” and these along with gift cards can be sent to school with your children in an envelope addressed to Nicole Pascoe or Donna Powell.
Sincerely,
Nicole Pascoe, School Social Worker: 683-1650 ext. 5050

Donna Powell, School Counselor: 683-1650 ext. 5050

If you do not pew order a yearbook, then we may not have enough available to purchase at the end of the school year when it comes out. We order a some extra, but the only guarantee is to pre order, so I highly recommend ordering one ahead of time.
If you have a child in grade 4 and need financial assistance to purchase a yearbook, then please email me directly at lauried@portsmouthschoolsri.org and we will make sure your child gets a yearbook.

Our Food Pantry is Always Open!
In keeping with the spirit of giving, our Feinstein Jr. Scholars are excited to start an in-school food pantry that our students and families can donate to and access when needed.
Please help us as we continue to support our community by sending in food items with your child from time to time. Please email
Mrs. Powell: powelld@portsmouthschoolsri.org or
Mrs. Pascoe: pascoen@portsmouthschoolsri.org
if you would like to access our food pantry during the school year.
