Hello Kennedy Families,

We've had a great week. Students are very excited about the upcoming musical auditions (more info here) and tryouts for middle school basketball. Additional information about basketball tryouts will be on the morning announcements on Monday and posted to our website.

National Junior Honor Society

Acceptance letters went home yesterday. Please read the acceptance letter carefully with your child and have them return just the signature portion of the letter by December 9th. Also enclosed in the acceptance letter was an order form to purchase a NJHS t-shirt. Finally, a list of dates for our NJHS meetings was enclosed, please add these dates to your calendars. The National Junior Honor Society will hold its first official meeting Thursday, December 15th from 2:40 - 3:20. We will be meeting in the cafeteria right after school. For the past 29 years, the Kennedy Middle School has purchased gifts for children in need. The Waltham Community has indicated that because of financial burdens and struggles, many children do not receive presents for the holiday. We would like to bring some joy to these children and make their holiday a little brighter! Each homeroom at Kennedy has a Student Santa representative that will be collecting monetary donations during homeroom starting December 5th and ending December 16th. Hopefully, this drive, as it has done in the past, will clearly demonstrate what the Kennedy Community is all about. Please consider having your child donate to their homeroom and feel the joy of helping a child in need during the holidays. The Harlem Wizards Are Back – Save the Date!
