Dear DES School Community,

As we approach the conclusion of 2023 and eagerly anticipate the arrival of 2024, we extend warm holiday wishes to each and every one of you. As the year comes to a close, we want to convey our deep gratitude for the incredible support and engagement from our wonderful school community. This year has been marked by achievements, growth, and unforgettable moments. We eagerly anticipate resuming our journey together when school reopens on January 2, 2024.

During this holiday season, we are delighted to share that Mrs. Maurer's and Miss Banderas' classes exemplified kindness by extending a helping hand to those who can't be at home, such as individuals dealing with illness or staying in shelters. The students dedicated themselves to community service, bringing joy to others during this special time of the year. 🥰

In a week bursting with festivities, the Kindergarten team excelled in orchestrating Gingerbread House Making Day, which highlighted a distinguished guest reader, Superintendent Mr. Runey. The event welcomed visits from Assistant Superintendent Dr. Souza. Followed by a night performance, Mrs. Fernandes demonstrated exceptional preparation as she guided her grade 1 students through an evening play titled "Santa and the Elves," presented before their families. Beyond showcasing their theatrical skills, the students exemplified the Portrait of a Graduate qualities, particularly in Communication and Future Readiness.

May this holiday season bring you moments of happiness, warmth, and togetherness. On behalf of Mrs. Dessert, Mrs. Lima, and the entire school staff, we wish you a fantastic holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Mrs. Maurer's and Miss Banderas' classes showed kindness this holiday season by helping people who can't be at home, like those who are sick or staying in shelters. The students did community service to bring a little joy to others during this special time of the year.🥰

Mrs. Collin's and Mrs. Perry's first-grade students embraced the spirit of friendship with a heartwarming celebration in the park. Accompanied by their families, they gathered for a delightful playdate filled with laughter, joy, and steaming cups of hot cocoa. The event radiated warmth as the students reveled in the gift of togetherness, creating beautiful memories in the spirit of the season.

Mrs. Della Villa’s engineers put their skills to work, solving real world problems. They used gumdrops and tooth picks to create standing structures. They had to plan, create and evaluate their designs!
