Weatherford High School is heart broken at the loss of one of our own, Randy Gutierrez. Randy passed away October 19th after a long, courageous battle with Leukemia.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

FFA at the State Fair
Weatherford FFA was well represented this past weekend at the State Fair of Texas Breeding Beef Heifer Show. Highlights include member Jordyn Dabelstein placing second in her class with a Hereford heifer named Miss Dynamite. Emilee Munchrath and her Shorthorn heifer, Buttermilk, were named Overall Reserve Grand Champion Shorthorn.

Scholarship Information
Seniors: Be sure to check out the new scholarship website – E-Scholarships USA. Go to www.collegeguidanceconsultants.com User name: weatherford, Password: weatherford
Sophomores and Juniors: The Project Opportunity Scholarship is available for WHS students with financial need who are planning to attend Weatherford College. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 for tuition, books, and supplies for two years and is made available by the Project Opportunity Foundation. Students must be sophomores or junior to apply and the deadline for juniors to turn in their application is December 1, 2016. Applications are available in the Counseling Center.
Available Scholarships
Parker County Texas Democratic Women Scholarship: The PC Democratic Women are offering a $500 scholarship to a male or female who is registered to vote and has a Democratic Party affiliation. Students must have at least a 2.5 in all classes and write a one-page statement describing their personal interests and how the scholarship will help them further their education and career goals. Three letters of recommendation are required. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and the application deadline is March 17, 2017.
Texas Student Housing Scholarship: Scholarships are limited to students who will be attending college in Austin, College Station, or Denton, Texas. Scholarships are awarded for the full or partial cost of an OFF-CAMPUS room for one year and may be renewed. Scholarships are in the amount of $2,500 to assist students with the cost of housing. Good academic and leadership standards are required. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2017.
