Accreditation Update
We are pleased to welcome our Visiting Committee for their three-day visit beginning this Tuesday! This Committee is comprised of educators from our Archdiocese, with our Chairperson coming to us from the Archdiocese of Seattle. Throughout the visit they will observe all of our classes, meet with parents, teachers, staff, students, Advisory Council and PTO members. The Visiting Committee will also complete a report summarizing their findings and recommendations and we will look forward to sharing this with all of you. This report will be presented to the faculty and staff on the last day of their visit, Thursday, January 18th. Please remember, students will be dismissed at noon on Thursday. Once again, we thank you for your continued support and choosing Catholic education, here at St. Anthony of Padua.
Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.
Monday marks the 29th year that our nation has officially recognized the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, celebrating the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday of January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. We pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and his significant contributions to the civil rights movement. As we approach this coming Monday, we eagerly anticipate honoring his enduring legacy, not just on that day but always.

We encourage you to contribute to this noble cause by donating books, school supplies, sports equipment, and games. Your support is invaluable, and together, we look forward to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children within our community. Thank you for your generosity!
Each child that donates will receive a special vinyl football sticker and will be entered into a drawing for the opportunity to win a special Canes Chicken lunch during Catholic Schools Week.
6th Grade Explores the Wonders of Biology through Bullfrog Dissection
Our 6th-grade students recently undertook the task of dissecting bullfrogs. Led by Mrs. Laurita, the students delved into the intricate anatomy of these amphibians, gaining hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of biological structures. This immersive activity not only provided valuable insights into biology but also honed the students' observational and analytical skills. Kudos to our talented 6th graders for their enthusiastic participation and to Mrs. Laurita for her excellent guidance throughout this engaging exploration. Well done, 6th grade!
3rd Grade Bulletin Board
We are delighted to shine a spotlight on the incredible efforts of our 3rd grade class, who have truly exemplified the spirit of community through their recent project – a beautiful bulletin board that radiates positivity. We express our gratitude to Mrs. Kline and Ms. Grandbois for their dedication and hard work in creating this exquisite bulletin board. Well done, 3rd grade, for inspiring us all with your collective creativity and spirit!
Early Dismissal January 18th
A reminder that on January 18th, we will be having a half-day for accreditation purposes. This is an essential step in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our educational programs. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Please plan accordingly for the shortened school day, and thank you for your ongoing support.

Life Skill of the Week
Our Life Skill for this week will focus on "Cooperation: Work together toward a common goal." Working together with other people may often present challenges. It may call for us to compromise, listen to other ideas, and put aside our own plans in order to achieve a common goal. We must be effective communicators if we are to be successful at cooperating. The School Wide Learning Expectation, SLE, of Being an Effective Communicator calls on us to speak well and listen to others. Both of those components are essential for productive cooperation. Being able to share your thoughts and ideas with others in a constructive manner will help you when cooperating with others. Knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say it goes a long way toward building bridges of understanding when cooperating.
Extended Care & After School Activities
If your child participates in after-school activities and you pick up in Lane 2, please proceed to the outside of Lane 2, as the inside lane is reserved for aftercare pickup. Additionally, we kindly ask that if you arrive before the designated dismissal time, you park in a designated parking space to ensure a smooth flow in Lane 2. Your cooperation is invaluable in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for everyone at our school.
