Pre-K:

• Reminder that transportation changes should be in writing (text, email, note).
• Reminder that there will be no school on Thursday and Friday, October 7th and 8th.
• Thursday will be a remote day and packets will be sent home by your child’s teacher and need to be returned on Monday.
• Picture day will be on Tuesday, October 5th and students may wear non uniform dress that is school appropriate.
• As the weather gets cooler please send an appropriate change of clothes.

Kindergarten:

• Please read take home books each night.
• Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday and Friday, October 7-8.
• Thursday, October 7 is a remote learning day. Plackets will be sent home on Wednesday. Please return them on Monday.\-
• New sight words will be sent home on Monday.
• Please make sure students are bringing water in their water bottles to drink. Students will only be allowed to drink juice during snack time.
• Please send an extra mask each day.

Second Grade:

• Please make sure students are reading their AR book and completing their log each night. Students should also complete any homework assignments that have been assigned.

• Students need to bring an extra mask to school each day.

• Please make sure students are bringing water in their water bottles to drink.
• Students will only be allowed to drink juice during snack time.

Resource:

The Veterans Day Program will be a “virtual” presentation because of COVID concerns. The “Veterans, Thank You from WPS” slideshow will be released prior to Veterans Day and shared with local media, Arts Council, PTA, students, and community.

“Tiger Troupe” practices begin Tuesday, October 5th. Practice days are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 7:30 - 8:00 for second graders who returned permission forms.

Exceptional Children:

• We look forward to seeing all of our parents at parent/teacher conferences next week on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please them at home and contact the school as soon as possible.

• Fever or chills

• Cough

• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

• Fatigue

• Muscle or body aches

• Headache

• New loss of taste or smell

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

Fall Pictures will be taken on Tuesday, October 5th. Students are allowed to wear regular clothing appropriate for school. The Fall Makeup pictures will be taken on Thursday, November 4th.

WPS Book Fair will be open EARLY starting on PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE! The book fair will continue to be open the following week Monday through Friday Oct 11-15. Also, if we run out of what you wanted, on Thursday there will be another shipment to restock the shelves, so if we run out of the books you want...you can come again for this refill of the book fair!! Thank you for your support of this event that helps excite kids about reading, and raise money for our school!

All students have received their Cookie Dough Fundraiser Packets. If for any reason you may need additional materials please contact your child's teacher. All order forms and money will be due on October 5,2021. There will be a reward for all of our students that participate in this fundraiser.

Tiger Parents, please be reminded that Thursday October 7, from 4-7pm and Friday October 8 form 8-12pm we will have Parent Teacher Conferences. Please take this opportunity to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their academic progress for the first six weeks of school. If you have not done so already please complete the Parent Teacher Conference sign up form that your child brought home this week to schedule your time slot.

Parents please be reminded that Thursday October 7 is a remote instructional day. Teachers will send work home with students on Wednesday for them to complete on Thursday and submit on Monday 9/11/21.
