Bernardo Parent Bulletin #16

Thank you to all of our Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, family, and friends who came out to share their experiences with our students this past Friday. Our students were so excited to hear from your experiences and to sing for you.

One of our amazing 5th grade students, Harper Pennington, along with the fabulous Mrs. Hanel put together a photo slideshow from all of the photos that were submitted featuring our Veterans and Active-Duty guests. As their annual community service project, our 5th grade classes will be spearheading a food drive from November 1 through November 18 to support families in need. Thank you for considering how you can support this great cause.

Mark your calendars! This Thursday and Friday, November 17-18 will both be minimum days. On 11/17, school will dismiss at 12:15 and on 11/18, school will dismiss at 12:10.

Please make your pick-up plans accordingly!

We thought this might be an interesting read as we get ready for Thanksgiving Break. We are lucky to have so many beautiful outdoor places here in San Diego to enjoy!

Please be sure to stop by our lost and found cart if your child has lost a jacket, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, or even a sock or shoe! We'll put the cart out front on 11/18 for anyone that would like to stop by and take a look.

We're excited to host an off-site book fair on Saturday, December 3rd at Barnes & Noble in Escondido. We'll have guest readers throughout the day along with wish lists from our teachers. A portion of all purchases will come right back to Bernardo so it's a great way to encourage reading while supporting our school as well.

Our first major break in the school year will take place next week with Thanksgiving Break from November 21-November 25. We hope you all enjoy some fantastic time with your families.
