About the project

Want to find out more about European Union? Or maybe you were wondering how democracy works on a macro-level? Look no further! This youth exchange is the perfect opportunity for you to get new and fresh knowledge.

General objectives

-Building up active citizenship and participation within Europe and beyond;

-Understanding how democracy works across different countries;

-Fostering the relations with countries from Eastern Partnership;

-Boosting the intercultural dialogue;

-Developing a critical thinking towards European cultural diversity;

-Promoting Erasmus+ programme and its mobilities for youths.

Accommodation and lodging

You will be hosted in a modern facility in Knivsberg located in the city of Rødekro. Each room has 3-4 beds and a private bathroom with shower. Moreover, towels and bed linen will be provided.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served daily in our spacious canteen. In between sessions you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and to have a bite of authentical Danish sweets. Should you have any special requests regarding the meals (e.g. vegetarian food), kindly inform us at least one month prior to the start date of the project.

Transportation

Unless you come by bike or drive thousands of kilometres, we strongly advise you to use Copenhagen Airport for your flights. From there, you will have to take the train to Rødekro station. Once you manage to get there, we will pick you up by car and bring you safely to our project venue.

Remember to drop us an email before booking your flight tickets as we have to confirm your itinerary.

In case you want to spend extra days in Denmark, feel free to do so. You are allowed to spend up to 6 extra days outside the project dates.

Financial

Accommodation, meals and travel costs will be covered for all participants. However, the upper limit for the travel budget varies for each country:

Sweden ----> 275 EUR

Ukraine ----> 275 EUR

Moldova ----> 275 EUR

Armenia ----> 360 EUR

Georgia ----> 360 EUR

Reimbursement will be done in cash for Armenian and Georgian particiants in the last day of the project. Participants from other countries will receive the money within 3 weeks after the project ends.

Participation fee: 30 EUR per participant

(it includes: towels, bed linen, materials, transport to/from train station or airport)

Medical insurance

Although it is not mandatory, we strongly advise you to have medical insurance covering emergencies. You never know what might happen during your stay. Medical services are very very expensive in Denmark, just so you know.

Participant countries

We are welcoming 5 participants from each of the following countries: Sweden, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Denmark. All participants must be between 16-30 y.o. However, group leaders are exempted from this rule.

Each national team will have one leader who will be responsible for the communication process with the organizing team.

Also, the leader will coordinate the intercultural evening and other similar activities throughout the project.

What to bring

Weather in Denmark is usually cold and windy during winter. Therefore, bring warm clothes with you. Also, take some basic pills with you in case you get sick or catch a cold. If you follow a special treatment which requires specific medication, remember to bring it along with you as well.

Regarding the intercultural evenings, feel free to bring your flag together with traditional food, snacks or drinks with you. However, the maximum limit for alcohol is 5L per country.

Important!

The deadline for booking the flights is 15th October. This is very important because we need to buy in advance the train tickets for you from Copenhagen to Rødekro to get the best price.

If you don't manage to follow the above deadline for flights, then you'll have to buy the train tickets yourself (will cost around 100 EUR for a return ticket per person).

Regarding the reimbursement process, participants are requested to keep all tickets, invoices and boarding passes in order to be eligible for refunding.
