Principal's Message
Fuller Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we embrace the fall season, we are excited to share some updates and upcoming events happening at Fuller.
Our Socktober Sock Drive is in full swing, and we are thrilled with the enthusiasm our students have shown so far. It warms our hearts to see the spirit of generosity and compassion within our school community. The competition between grade levels is heating up, and the winning grade will earn a well-deserved ice cream party! Please continue to encourage your children to bring in new socks to contribute to this worthy cause. Let's work together to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Mark your calendars for our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat event, which will take place on October 26th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM right here at our school. We're looking forward to a spooktacular evening of fun and community. To make this event a success, we are kindly accepting donations of bags of candy in the front office. Your support will help create memorable moments for our students and families.
Our PTO Glow Run fundraiser is well underway, with the big event scheduled for Thursday. We're excited to see the enthusiasm and determination our students are displaying as they work towards gathering pledges. As of now, Kindergarten is leading the charge! Keep up the fantastic effort, and let's make this fundraiser a resounding success to support our school's programs and initiatives.
We are truly grateful for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can achieve great things for our students and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Thank you for being a part of our wonderful school family.
Remember, we are Fuller, we are Family!

Six weeks Interim Progress Reports will be posted on the Parent Portal next week. You will notice your child's Specials classes (Art, STEM, Music, and PE) will be reported as an S for Satisfactory Participation or U for Unsatisfactory Participation. As always, if there is any concern about your child’s participation or progress in class, you will be contacted by the teacher.
Aubrey ISD Gifted and Talented Service
It is time for referrals to be made for eligibility in the Gifted and Talented Service at Aubrey ISD. A parent may refer their child as a possible candidate for this service. The child must be in 2nd -5th grades. The criteria are extensive, and the standards are very high. However, if you would like to refer your child for possible placement in the Gifted and Talented Services, you will need to fill out a referral form. Forms may be found on the Aubrey ISD Gifted and Talented page. That page is found on the District home page under departments. Once you are there, click on it to see the Gifted and Talented Service. Please click on Parent Information to see the information and links.
There will be a parent informational meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Monaco Elementary library. Topics that will be discussed during this time will include GT characteristics and the testing process.
Referral will be open September 25 at 8:00 am through October 13 and will close at 3:00pm.
If you are interested in having your child considered for the Gifted and Talented service, please have the referral form filled out and submitted by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2023. Unfortunately, there will be NO late exceptions.
If you have any questions, please email mjturner@aubreyisd.net. All this information can be found on the Aubrey ISD Gifted and Talented page on the district website.

Texas Penal Code 46.13 (Required Posting)
September 18, 2023
Dear Parent or Guardian:
Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.
In 2021, 4,613 Texans experienced gun-related deaths. The Texas Department of State Health Services (SHS) reports that 55% of Texas firearms deaths in 2020 were suicides and that 59% of all suicides in Texas were by firearms. Suicide attempts involving firearms have a 90% fatality rate. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Acts of mass violence and interpersonal violence often end in suicide.
It is unlawful to store, transport, or abandon an unsecured firearm in a place where children are likely to be and can obtain access to the firearm. Under Texas Penal Code 46.13, a person commits the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child if the child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm, and the person with criminal negligence:
- Failed to secure the firearm; or
- Left the firearm in a place to which the person knew or should have known the child would gain access
The penalty for allowing a child access to a firearm can range from a Class C misdemeanor (punishable by a $500 fine) to a Class A misdemeanor (punishable by a $4000 fine, a year in jail, or a combination of the two).
Texas exempts the purchase of firearm safety equipment from Texas Sales and Use Tax.
Remember, a gun should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere. You can learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety at https://safegunstoragetexas.com.
Safe gun storage is critical to preventing suicide, unintentional shootings, and other tragedies.
Sincerely,
Nathan Smith

Dismissal Issue
When the cars park in the red marked areas, vehicles exiting the car line cannot exit safely without coming out in the street. So to prevent any accidents, I will be placing 6 cones in the area. I have suggested to parents who parked there, to pull up to the school zone sign and park there.
I have included a map of the location with "NO PARKING IN RED AREAS" on the map.
Important Information
- Anyone entering the building MUST be prepared to show ID BEFORE entering
- IDs or car tags will be checked at dismissal for car and walk ups.
- Please label all jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
- Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily.
- No visitors for lunch until after Labor Day.
- Instruction begins at 7:40 (students MUST be in seats by then)
- School day ends at 3:15
If you have any questions, email Mr. Smith at n.smith@aubreyisd.net

Attendance
Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.
A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.
In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
