Just a reminder...there is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow, Friday, October 1st. Our teachers will be working hard during their professional development day.

We will have many Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses around the school starting Monday, October 4th. In an effort to recognize individual student efforts towards being respectful at Mill Valley, we are asking classroom teachers to recognize one student from their class (twice a month) and tell us why! Students selected will be called down to the office on that Monday to get their picture taken! That picture will be posted on a bulletin board and they will receive a decoration for their locker. Parents will be notified of their respectful behavior by email.

Tuesday, October 12th is picture re-take day.

• If your child has not had a picture taken already, their picture will be taken on that day and ordering information will be sent home with them.
• If your child had their picture taken on Welcome Back Night, but a retake is needed, please let your teacher know so your child can be sent for pictures. Please return the original picture package to the photographer at the time of pictures. The same package will be ordered with the new image. New packages will not be received unless the original package is returned.

The district calendar committee has begun work on the 2022-23 school calendar and we are interested in gathering input from our families. Thank you in advance for making time to complete this BRIEF SURVEY. Results from the survey will be one of many factors taken into consideration by the team. We anticipate a final calendar being brought forward to the School Board in December, which will then be shared with families once approved.

For the next 10 weeks, we will share with you the Weekly Mindfulness Newsletter so you can stay informed of the lessons that are being taught in your child's classroom.

Lessons are specific to grade levels.

Door 12 will open at 2:20 (please do not arrive early), and head straight to the gym.

Students will parade through the hallways and end in the gym.
