Monthly Recap
Below are a few of our CTSO in Action this month
All of our CTSO organizations are participating at maximum level in regional and state competitions. Students that participate in Career and Technical Student organizations have requirements to participate in competitions. And theses students exceed expectations and give full effort. We appreciate our CTE students that are in multiple activities across the high school that give up there time to participate in student led organizations.
As a participant, these students hold officer roles and volunteer their time outside of school hours to give back to the community and demonstrate a positive impact to our Wills Point High School campus.
These students have dedicated sponsors that take the time to assist the students to become success in their college and career dreams. They prepare them to become workforce ready in the classroom and students demonstrate these practices at all competitions.
These students have opportunities to have scholarships, internships, and gain job skills to prepare for college and career. We are so proud of all of our CTSO and CTE students that help with projects and competitions during and after school hours.

INFORMATION FOR TSIA2 PREPARATION & TESTING
Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)
The Texas Success Initiative is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. Based on performance, a student may either be enrolled in a college level course that matches skill level or be placed in the appropriate developmental course or intervention to improve skills and prepare for success in college-level courses.
Not all students need to take the TSIA2. There are several ways to be exempt. Qualifying for a TSI Assessment exemption means that you can enroll in any entry-level college course without restrictions. A student is exempt from TSI requirements in all areas only if the student meets one of the following test conditions. Students may not combine scores from different administrations of the same test.

Our new program, Education and Training, is taught by Mrs. Whitaker. She is using the State adopted program "Grow your Own" to market students to become teachers. Those students will get access to free admissions to colleges such as UTA or SFASU, to get their credentials and hopefully return back to WPISD to continue their teaching profession. In the Fall of 2023, we will be offering those students educational aid certificate once completing hours under Mrs. Whitaker supervision. We will be using our district communication/marketing department to help assist with growth of this program in the Spring 2023.
In the fall of 2023, we are partnering with TVCC to offer a dual credit program for Health Science program, Healthcare Therapeutics. The students will get their CCMA certificate through our certified teacher Mrs. Jennifer Reynolds. In the spring of 2023, TVCC will be developing an facility, equipment and implementation plan to assist us on how simulate a educational clinic on our campus.
Our new Certified Auto Mechanic, Mr. Attaway. He will be preparing students to take their preliminary requirements to become ASE certified in 1-2 categories starting 2023.
We use data from surveys we send to our stakeholders, analyze the highest job market demand in our area to determine what best fit our students, and collaborate with our advisory committee.
We want to see our students succeed, and the best way to start. Is here at Wills Point High School.
We are continuing to look into improvements across all CTE programs, so that every student is successful and workforce ready.
