Celebrating February- Black History Month
“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” -Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father was a pro basketball player, which inspired Kobe Bryant to become one as well. In high school, Bryant was awarded as the best basketball player. He decided not to go to college but continue to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. At the age of seventeen, Bryant was drafted into the Charlotte Hornets then later traded for the Los Angeles Lakers. At the age of eighteen, he started his first National Basketball Association (NBA) season. He won five NBA championships with the LA Lakers and two gold Olympics medals throughout his professional basketball career. On January 26, 2020, Bryant and his daughter passed away from a helicopter accident that shocked the world. Still today, Kobe Bryant is known to be the most famous basketball player in NBA history.
