Dear AESD Families,

The following update is provided to keep you informed regarding the Anaheim Elementary School District:

Mandarin will be the Third Language in AESD’s Dual Language Immersion Program

Anaheim Elementary School District (AESD) will grow its Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program with the Board of Education voting to add Mandarin to its 2023-24 curriculum at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School. Just like English, Mandarin is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Roosevelt School will host DLI Mandarin classes starting with TK next school year and will grow the program annually.

Mandarin will be the third language in AESD’s Dual Language Immersion program along with Spanish and Korean.

AESD is now enrolling for Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. Please visit aesd.org/enroll for more information.

Anaheim Succeeds! Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

The before and after school program, Anaheim Succeeds!, continues to enroll students at each of our 24 school sites. Please note that attendance for your child does not need to be everyday. It can be a selective club, such as Mariachi, Baile Folklorico, or eSports that meets once a week or a couple times a week. The goal of Anaheim Succeeds! is to support you as a parent, while at the same time enriching your child’s academic success. Each school site has an Anaheim Succeeds! leadership assistant to go over the site-specific schedule and for you to learn about all the activities. Stop by the office to meet your leadership assistant to see if Anaheim Succeeds! can support your child before and/or after school.

Anaheim Elementary School District 2022-23 Transportation Plan Survey

The Anaheim Elementary School District Transportation Department is required to develop a transportation plan to submit for approval by April 1, 2023. We are seeking insight from families to help guide decision making as this plan is created. Your feedback is extremely important and will help improve our transportation services across the school district. Please click here to complete the survey. The survey deadline is Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
