October's College Application Month Update
October was College Application Month for senior students. It was a huge success and lots of fun!
During College Application Week (October 18-21), seniors were provided time in TOK or PPS class to complete college applications with the help of counselors and college representatives.
Seniors interested in applying to Idaho colleges and universities were encouraged to use Apply Idaho, which is an application that allows students to apply to 10 Idaho colleges with one application. With the assistance of counselors and college representatives, RHS seniors completed and applied to over 350 colleges. Way to go Voyagers!
In addition to College Application Week help sessions, RHS Counselors are meeting individually with each senior to follow up and check on post secondary plans. Our goal is to assist seniors during this journey towards life after high school graduation.
If you have any questions about College Application Week or completing the college application process, please contact Mrs. Schneider, the College Career Counselor at schneider.tammy@westada.org.

Applied to College? Now What?!?
Once seniors have completed college applications, they often wonder "what do I do now?"
Below is a list that can assist seniors and parents with completing the necessary steps:
- Complete College Application(s)
- Send High School Transcript through SCOIR
- Fill out FAFSA
- Research and apply for scholarships
After completing the college application and submitting a high school transcript, students will begin to receive information from the college/university they have applied to.
It is important that students check email accounts (personal, school, college, etc.) for correspondence from the college(s)!
Most college decision deadlines are May 1st, so seniors will use the next several months to decide where they want to attend.
High School Transcript Request - SCOIR
Applying to college and need a high school transcript? High School transcripts can be requested through SCOIR!
After submitting a college application, your next step should be to log into SCOIR to have your high school transcript sent.
How to Submit a Transcript Request in SCOIR
- Access Clever, which can be found by logging into RapidIdentity or District Apps
- Once in Clever, click on SCOIR
- Click on My Colleges on the top
- Add college or university to your ‘Applied’ list or click and drag from 'Applying' to 'Applied'.
- SCOIR will automatically alert Mrs. Schneider to send your transcript to the college or university.
Requesting College Transcripts - Unofficial & Official
College transcripts are separate and different from RHS high school transcript.
RHS does not have access to student's college transcripts!
When applying to college, they may request transcripts for college credits you have received in high school. Many colleges allow unofficial college transcripts for admissions.
Once students decide to attend a college, they will require OFFICIAL college transcripts after graduation.
Students can access unofficial college transcripts for no fee. Official college transcripts do have a fee that the college requires before they will send them.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Attending College in the Fall 2022?
Submit your FAFSA!
Did you know…many scholarships and other forms of financial assistance require the FAFSA be completed prior to distributing funds. Deadlines for specific post-secondary programs and financial assistance opportunities vary for each educational institution.
Check with your college or university for financial assistance deadlines.

Associate Degree Senior Students
Seniors in the Associate Degree program are required to set up an appointment with Dana Gaudet at ISU during first semester of Senior year to review concurrent credits.
Students must have Unofficial College Transcripts when meeting with Dana.
Fast Forward Balance
RHS is highly recommending Senior students (Class of 2022) review their Fast Forward balance by logging into their account on the state’s website (https://advancedops.sde.idaho.gov/).
Students can view their remaining balance by clicking on Course Submissions once they are logged into their account.
Seniors who are pursuing the AA degree WILL deplete their Fast Forward funds and be required to pay fees for dual college credits this upcoming school year.
It is encouraged that seniors and parents check Fast Forward balances, as well as discuss the credits they will be enrolling in during Senior year, to plan accordingly for the upcoming year.
Students are financially responsible for any outstanding balance they incur once Fast Forward funds have been depleted.
Click HERE for information on how to make a payment to the college(s) for concurrent credits.
