Welcome back EY Famalies

I hope this message finds you well. I am excited about the start of the coming school year, as we continue the planning and work of opening school in a comprehensive distance learning model, I wanted to send an update about some important upcoming dates, and share some information about the start of school.


Office staff return to work: Our office staff are back working as of this past Wednesday. Karen is excited to be available to be back at work and look forward to supporting our families as we start the new school year.


Due to COVID 19 protocols, we are handling things differently in the office. You may call or email the school to get assistance during normal school hours (8am – 4pm) at 503-554-4750. If someone does not pick-up please leave a message and your phone call will be returned as soon as possible.

Comprehensive Distance Learning Presentations: Earlier this week, Superintendent Dr. Morelock, district office staff, and building principals shared the Comprehensive Distance Learning Model for remote instruction. Class placement and Cohort Creation: Our class placement information will be sent out through email and mail to our families on Friday, September 4th. This will include information about your child’s teacher and their group assignment for Comprehensive Distance Learning.


Monday, September 14th First Day of Distance Learning: The first day of distance learning is scheduled for September 14th. Prior to the start of the year we will be reaching out to families of 1st - 5th grade students to schedule pre-conferences. While we can not do this in person, a video option will be available. This will provide you an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and for your teacher to learn more about your child. We will cover information about the school year, our comprehensive distance learning, and answer questions you may have. This is an effort to provide an orientation for all families as they begin a new learning model with us. More details will be coming about this soon as we work to schedule times with you.


Kindergarten families, please look for a separate email regarding how we plan on welcome and get you connected with your new school.
