Security Drill Information
Dear Parents/Guardians,
DBAIC will be practicing an intruder drill on 11/14/23 @ 9:45 AM. . A “run, hide, fight” procedure would be utilized in the unlikely event that there was an intruder in the school. The students and staff will be prepared for the drill in advance. Teachers will review procedures in a calm fashion prior to the drill.
We do not want to scare the students so we want them to be aware that it is a drill. Our purpose is to communicate our safety procedures to staff and students and have them practice the drill together. We will then gather feedback to make sure we have the most effective procedures in place as we continue to work with Homeland Security, The Pennsylvania State Police, local police departments, emergency service organizations and the Berks County Intermediate Unit in the development of the countywide all hazards plan.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Chris Becker & Jeff Reichart

RED RIBBON WEEK 2023:
Dear parents, teachers, and staff:
The week of October 23rd is National Red Ribbon Week.
The Red Ribbon Campaign is a national effort to encourage school children to learn and practice anti-drug habits. With all of your help and approval, this week can be a fun and successful way to promote healthy living and good choices to our youngsters.
Please encourage all students and your child to wear their red ribbons each day and to follow the theme of the day! Please see attachment.
Thank you for your continued support of this program ... and remember, have fun!
Bus Behavior:
Please remind your student(s) that we need to be safe on the bus at all times. We are working with the bus company to address appropriate behavior on the bus. Thank you in advance.
PICTURE RETAKE DAY: November 9th.
This will be the retake day for DBAIC.
Attendance Information:
Please submit future absences via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. For more information, please visit https://dboone.help/?ht_kb=absence-requests.
If you have difficulty accessing your Infinite Campus account, please submit a support ticket at https://bit.ly/dbtechforparents.
Parents are requested to call or submit a request via Infinite Campus to report an absence of their child before 8:30 a.m. An automated call will go out after 9:30 a.m. to alert parents about student absences. Please note that a written excuse is still required if you chose to call, however a request in infinite campus does not require a written note.
An excused absence may be for any of the following reasons: illness, quarantine, injury, required court attendance, death in the family, emergencies, and religious holidays.
Students must provide a written excuse to their homeroom teacher upon their return to school, unless a request was submitted in Infinite Campus. Failure to return the excuse within three school days will result in the absence being classified as unexcused (and/or illegal).
