During the month of October, students in the band room have really gotten into the nitty gritty of the school year:

• 5th grade- Beginner band students have been continuing to work hard in their method books, learning new notes and rhythms on an almost daily basis. Ask them about their mouthpiece rhythm challenge and if they've succeeded yet!
• 6th grade- These band students have been diving deep into their concert music, working a section at a time to prepare for next month's performance.
• 7th/8th grade- In addition to working on their music for the concert, these students have been practicing pep band music for the quickly approaching pep band season! 7th/8th graders have also begun to discuss and pick out pieces for solo/ensemble.
• High school- By the far the busiest of all, the high school band has been working on their concert and pep band music. These students have also spent serious time diving into their solos for festival!

November 3rd- Pep band rehearsal during FLEX (7/8 & HS only)

November 9th- Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra performance

November 10th- Veterans Day performance (7/8 & HS only)

November 17th- 6 Rivers East Conference band (8th only)

November 18th- Pep band rehearsal during FLEX (7/8 & HS only)

November 22nd- Pep band rehearsal during FLEX (7/8 & HS only); Game @ 6:30pm

This year we have the exciting opportunity for our students to experience a performance by the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra. The WYSO has several different ensembles, and we have the privilege of seeing the Concert Orchestra. Concert Orchestra was founded in 1977 and performs music for full orchestra at the high school and advanced middle school level. Members of Concert Orchestra generally have two to three years of ensemble experience and perform individually at a standard high school or advanced middle school level. Concert Orchestra holds three concerts each season, and performs for area schools during an annual In-State Tour. Auditions for membership are held each spring.

WYSO will perform at Albany at 10:45am on November 9th for a K-12 assembly. Please see the video below for a sneak peek of what students can expect!

6 Rivers East Conference will be holding an 8th grade conference band in Argyle on November

17th, 2022. Students will attend a day full of rehearsal with other 8th grade band students from

area schools, and work with a clinician to prepare for a concert the same evening. We will travel via van to Argyle and return after the completion of the concert.

WHEN? November 17th, 2022; departing school at 8:15am, return approximately 7pm

CONCERT TIME? 5:30pm

WHAT TO WEAR? Business casual attire (think what we wear to solo/ensemble)

MEALS? Lunch will be provided, plan to bring your own snacks for the day
