The Board of Education received the annual personnel report during last night's meeting. Millard teachers have worked for the district for an average of nearly 12 years and have an average of 15 years experience in education. Many have furthered their own education. The number of Millard educators who have earned their master's degree stands at 1,333. Fifty-three have earned their doctorates.

Millard continues to make a strong commitment to developing future teachers. Over the past year, Millard hosted 102 student teachers from eleven universities.

Millard students continue to outperform both the state and nation on national assessments.

Millard graduating seniors’ average composite score on the ACT was 21.5. The state was 19.4 and the nation was 19.8. Nebraska is one of a small number of states that give the ACT to almost every student. Nebraska had the second highest state composite score of those states that give the ACT to 90% or more of their students.

• Willowdale Elementary Third Grade Teacher Caitlin Maloley was recently named a Sweet 98 Top Teacher.
• Millard West High School Language Arts Teacher Jennifer Jerome is a new member of the National Speech & Debate Association Hall of Fame.
• Millard West High School Activities Director Lance Smith has been recognized by the Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association with the State Award of Merit.

The following teachers will join Millard in the 2023-2024 school year:

• Chelsie B. Peterson –Special Education Teacher
• Madison N. Pressler – Vocal Music teacher at Andersen Middle School
