Dear WES Families,

The 2022-23 school year is upon us, and we are excited to begin a new adventure at WES!

There has been much work taking place around here over the summer, and we are ready to welcome back our little leaders and their families at "Open House" on August 5, 2022. The new gym is near completion. Our library has been refreshed with new furniture. We are also anticipating new playground equipment within the next few months.

Parents, you play an important role in our success. Our staff is excited to partner with you this school year. We look forward to an exciting and eventful year at WES. Our first priority is our responsibility to our students. We are charged to educate and keep them safe. Please look for home to school communications regarding new innovative instructional practices, school safety, wellness, and activities.

Thank you in advance for your support and collaboration in the year ahead. This year will be exciting as we take our learning to new heights. There are great things on the horizon at WES. Stay tuned!!!

Join us for open house tomorrow August 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Doors will open at 9:50 a.m. Please park along the road and do not block driveways. Due to limited parking, we encourage families to not spend a long time in classes.

Due to limited parking on campus, parents will not be allowed in the building to drop off students on the first day of school. PreK & Kindergarten students will be provided bookbag tags with their name and teacher's name on them. Just as last year we will have staff on duty to ensure that students go to the correct destination. Please remember to stop by tomorrow to pick up your child's tag.

Two drop off locations will be open starting Monday. First grade drop off area could possibly be open for drop off and pick up, parking is still prohibited in this area. We do our best to announce changes as they occur. Due to weather and incidents beyond our control, the use of this area will change in the coming weeks. Please bear with us as this construction project comes to completion.

Student Arrival: Doors open each day at 7:35 a.m.

Breakfast will be served in the classroom until 7:50.

Tardies begin at 8:00 a.m.

Morning Car Riders: Car riders may only be dropped off in the designated car rider line each grade level. Staff members will be stationed at the front entrance of the school to assist. Please have your child ready to exit the car as soon as you stop at the drop off location. This helps our car rider line move efficiently.

We ask that you do not get out of your car during drop off or pick up.

Afternoon Car Riders -We will be using PIKMYKID for afternoon car riders. Car riders will have a dismissal number that WES will use to call your child to the dismissal area for pick up. Car rider signs will be sent home at Open House. Anyone picking up a child in the car rider line must have a school issued car rider sign. If no sign is present, the adult will be asked to park, visit the office, and show ID before a child will be released for the day. The adult must be listed on the student profile as a contact.

Dismissal Times :

Pre-k- 2:20

Kindergarten- 2:30

1st & 2nd Grade- 2:45

No check outs after 2:00 p.m. Please adhere to this. Our dismissal time is very busy and we want to ensure that all students are dismissed safely.
