• National Magnet Schools Award - Dance Party Celebration - Friday, May 7th at 3:00 - Families are welcome to join us to celebrate from the sidewalk (can't party on campus with us yet!). Whip up a sign, dust off the dancing shoes and bring your good cheer! VA students can join us on campus or via our Virtual Dance Party using code: WileyPE. Limited parking is available at the funeral home across St. Mary's Street and on the city streets - walk if you can do so! Student check-out will be available directly (if desired) from the party using "exit tickets" that will be provided. *Tentative plan - PreK-2 students in the soccer field area at the "new entrance" and 3-5 on the field at the back corner of campus by the basketball goal.

It is our Wiley tradition to donate yearbooks for all the 5th grade students who wouldn't otherwise get one! This year we need 31 yearbooks donated. It costs $14 to donate a book.

NOMINATIONS FOR PTA LEADERSHIP 2021-2022

The Wiley PTA Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the slate of nominees for Executive Officers for the 2021-2022 term. If anyone would like to run against any of the candidates, please email matt.ferraguto@gmail.com.

Wiley PTA’s General Membership meeting will be held in an online format at 6:30 pm on Thursday, May 6. Please note that in order to vote you must be a current member of our PTA for the 2020-2021 school year. If you would like to become a member and attend the meeting, please contact matt.ferraguto@gmail.com for info.

Due to COVID 19, the NCPTA has made allowances for local PTA chapters to conduct their general membership meetings in a virtual format. At our upcoming meeting we will vote on next year’s budget as well as our incoming PTA leadership.

Wiley Parents help us out! Do you have your CPA or experience working with non-profit books? Like planning events and hoping to throw the biggest one yet when it's safe? Marketing, advertising or grants experience?? Love raising funds for great causes? We are looking for new board members to join the Cecilia Rawlins Fund. If you're short on time, but you wish you could do more; we're a great option. We meet monthly (via Zoom currently), so the time commitment is low. However, your impact will be big for our Wiley community! Please email our current board president, Claire Roberts (claire.p.roberts@gmail.com) if you're interested in serving on the board.

If you're donating your stimulus check or have a big tax refund, please consider donating to the Cecilia Rawlins Fund. The Backpack Buddies program has increased from around 30 students to over 50 this year. Our goal is to ensure Wiley children and their families have access to food now and through the summer. The Cecilia Rawlins Fund also provides financial assistance to families experiencing an immediate need, like one-time rental assistance, utility bill payment, gas cards and assistance moving from homelessness to permanent housing.

Thanks to the Wiley community's generous and continued support, the Cecilia Rawlins Fund continues to provide needed resources to our children this school year in the absence of traditional food distribution methods.
