A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families and Supporters,
As a busier season approaches, I sometimes take a moment to create a checklist to help families organize all of their "To Do" items in one place. Here is one for the beginning of November, if it is helpful? These are ALL optional but might be helpful if there is too much information coming home:)
SCHOOL RELATED:
- Make sure you have signed up for a conference and prepared for NO SCHOOL on November 7.
- Send a photo of any veterans in your family to jdefreze@sau50.org with a name and branch of government.
- Get tickets to Wedgewood Festival TOMORROW NIGHT (see below).
- Attend the Principal Coffee TONIGHT at 6 PM. There is no agenda, just an open discussion so we can all get to know one another!
OPTIONAL DONATIONS:
- Donate to "Gather" (see list below)-OPTIONAL
- Donate leftover Halloween candy (send in a bag with your child).
- Contribute a gift card to Market Basket or another food store for RES families in need. *These will be carried over to the winter holiday season if needed.
Thank you for your support!
Warmly,
Michelle

Support for Our Families
We care deeply for those in our own community who experience financial hardship and food insecurity. We hope every RSD community member feels safe, secure, and free from financial stress, but we know this just isn't the case for some of our families. With the holiday season upon us, we encourage you to seek support if you need it. Please email Lori Arsenault, School Counselor (larsenault@sau50.org) or Michelle Pitts, RES Principal (mpitts@sau50.org) and trust that we will respect your privacy and support you in any way we can.
Please consider these ways that you can seek support or offer support to others:
Winter Holiday Support
- Throughout November, we will be collecting gift cards to local grocery stores. If you might be in need of this support, please reach out to Michelle or Lori.
- The Rye Fire Department runs an amazingly efficient and extremely generous toy drive for Rye families and other families across the Seacoast. Please contact the Fire Department or your child's school to get the forms and for more information. As the holiday season approaches, look for the Toy Drive boxes around town if you would like to donate!
- End 68 Hours of Hunger - If your family is experiencing food insecurity, END 68 Hours can help. This program provides children with food for the approximately 68 hours between when that student has lunch on Fridays at school and returns again on Monday for a school meal. If this support could be helpful to you, please contact Lori Arsenault (larsenault@sau50.org). If you would like to donate money or food to this program, please bring your generosity to either school during the regular school days (Monday-Friday), attention Lori Arsenault (RES) or Alison Dunn (RJH).
GATHER Mobile Markets - GATHER's Mobile Markets are outdoor, farmer market style shopping experiences. If you have not shopped with them before, just stop by one of the Markets and go shopping. Everyone is welcome to shop and everything is 100% free of charge. Learn more about this amazing organization and the support they provide by visiting HERE.
