Volume 32: Library Resources
Our professional collection is growing! New titles have been added to the DCHS Library Media Center that support professional growth. Additionally, titles that address teen anxiety, depression, and panic attacks have been included in this list but are to be housed in our general non-fiction collection as the target audience is teens. Students who are in the Education Pathway will also benefit from these new professional offerings. Your library team hopes you find these materials helpful! Find the full list here!

Book & Bake Business
Our club is still going strong! We began a new book at the beginning of November called I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak. If you'd like to read along with us, you will find the eBook in SORA! If you are familiar with Zusak's famous work The Book Thief (2005), then you'll know you're in for a treat. Set in Australia, I am the Messenger was published in 2002 and is packed with meaningful (and chuckle-worthy) moments. We will carefully discuss these moments with our Book & Bake group, providing guidance as we navigate the complexities of what it means to be a good human.
Here is a fun little nugget for you....students who read really enjoy learning about what YOU are reading. They get especially engaged when they discover you read the same or similar titles they read. Their eyes light up and to see that is an educator's delight. Consider picking up a copy of I am the Messenger and give it a try - I think you'll be glad you did. Added bonus - our recipe will be a classic from Australia, Anzac biscuits (cookies).
Great Discussion
We wrapped up October by sharing our thoughts on the spooky/thriller/suspense/mystery books we read and then we moved on to our next whole group read. Up next: I am the Messenger
