Mr Strumpher has made the following nominations this week:
7SI, 7TU and 7CO have worked hard in their lessons, looking at the difference between climate and weather and they had to look at scenarios and create synoptic weather symbols. This showed them the way data is being given to weather reporters from Meteorologists.
Also nominated are Year 10 students Neave, Cameron H, Jolanta, Riley, Danils and Dawa for working hard in their GCSE Geography lessons. Well, done to you all!
Music:
Year 7:
Miss Patrick was impressed with the enthusiasm that 7CO bought to this week’s lesson as they began working in groups to compose their very own work songs. The ideas each group had were creative and I am looking forward to developing their ideas next lesson – great work!
Year 8:
Vadims and Irena 8TE, Adam 8SI, Petar and Lottie 8TU and Leighton and Laila 8CO deserve a special mention this week for showing a great deal of resilience in improving their ukulele skills. Their hard work is definitely paying off!

This week year 9 have focused on perfectly synchronising music with on-screen action on GarageBand. Harry, Kian and Angela in 9CO, Patrikas in 9TE and Kenzie and Thomas 9SW composed with brilliant attention to detail!
DT/ Art/Food and Nutrition:
Mrs Firmin has nominated her Year 7 and Year 8 groups, they have created a lot of very tasty soup this week. The students have all worked extremely well, showing great knife skills and hob control. The Year 7 students in particular have been impressive with their organisation and cleaning up after themselves. Year 10 have also excelled, making a Chicken Jambalaya. The food room smelt amazing, and they demonstrated fantastic skills in dealing with the raw chicken, and reduction of the sauce to cook the rice. Well done Year 10!
We have Macaroni Cheese and Carrot Muffins to look forward to next week.
Science:
Scientists of the Week are:
Year 7 student Emilia who is not afraid to answer questions in class, even if she gets it wrong.
Year 8 student Jennifer who is very passionate about elements and the periodic table. Jennifer has made notes in her personal notebook about the different elements. She always engages with the lesson and contributes well thought out answers.
Year 9- student Thomas L for doing really well in lesson.
Year 10 student Ella C for working really well and for her hard work in lessons.
Year 11 student Dawid for amazing Effort over the last few weeks.
MFL:
Miss Graziano has nominated Year 8 student Maisie P for her hard work and amazing effort in Spanish.
Mrs Gonzalez-Villamil Lean has nominated Samuel K and Lucas in Year 7 for their relentless focus and joy of learning! It is wonderful to see. Also nominated is Saul in Year 11 for his dedication to Spanish at such an important moment, Olivia in Year 10 for always working hard and being an inspiration to the ones around her in Spanish and Year 9 students Julia, Scarlett and René or their high standards.
Computer Science:
Mr Strumpher has nominated 7SI and 7TU, both these groups have worked hard over the last few weeks developing a 3D game with Kodu. They first researched and looked at a concept for their Kodu games and then in the next phase they started designing the game interface and then coding their characters. With this process it taught them the process of Software Development Cycle.
Year 7s have finished off their computer game projects in Kodu this week with Mrs Simpson and have been testing and reviewing each other’s games. Mrs Simpson has been impressed with the mature approach they have taken to this task. In a week when they have been focusing on kindness the year 7s have been mindful to give feedback in a constructive manner. There have also been some very impressive games! A special mention to Mantas in 7ST, Ethan in 7CO, Laura and Mirren in 7TA, Alan in 7TE.
