I hope that you are ready to have a great year being a part of the Pontiac family!

This year we will be working on developing our strategic plan. Developing a strategic plan will require us to take a systematic approach to building alignment and commitment in an effort to guide the acquisition and allocation of resources to achieve the priorities of our school. We will have a number of meetings throughout the year at varying times. We value our partnership with our families! We plan to schedule meetings in the evening to accommodate your schedule. It will be our job to partner with all other stakeholders to focus our goals and to make sure they align with our district's mission and vision. Back to School Information

Dear Richland Two Families,

If your child rides the bus to school, please check your bus route tonight on our website. Our bus hubs continue to receive many new requests for transportation and make adjustments to routes daily.

The annual notification required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is included in the Back-to-School handbook. The information includes instructions on how to notify the district about restricting the release of directory information.

The handbook is available on the Back-to-School page of the district’s website or you can request a printed copy be sent home with your child or mailed to you. After you have reviewed the handbook, please complete the acknowledgement form that your child will bring home this week. The signed form must be returned to your child’s school.

Applications for Free or Reduced-Price Meals must be submitted each school year. A family’s status does not carry over from the previous year, and the full price for meals is charged until the new application is approved. If you have not already submitted an application for the 2017-2018 school year and would like to do so, you can access the online application on our Back-to-School web page.

Notes from the Nurse

"In an effort to ensure all student safety at Pontiac Elementary, some of our classrooms are designated peanut free zones. Please only send in peanut-free snacks if your student’s classroom is peanut free. Our cafeteria has a peanut-free table for lunch and breakfast. You can check with the homeroom teacher or the school nurse if you are unsure about the classroom. Please have your children wash their hands with soap and water after consuming or touching peanuts when coming from home."

Be on Time

The school day begins at 8:00 am and the tardy bell rings at 8:10 am. If your child arrives after 8:10 am please walk in with your child and sign them in through Lobby Guard. Thanks

Lobby Guard

Please remember to always bring your drivers license with you so that you can sign into Lobby Guard. All visitors are required to sign in before continuing down the hallways.
