Welcome to Mountainburg!
Mr. Darren "Chop" Jones
My name is Darren “Chop” Jones. I will be the new junior high and senior high boys basketball coach for the upcoming 21-22 school year. I graduated high school from Morrilton. I received my bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of the Ozarks, where I played 4 years of baseball.
I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University and my Educational Specialist degree from Arkansas State University. I began my coaching career at Altus-Denning, where I coached junior high and senior high boys basketball. I then accepted the junior high boy's basketball position at Morrilton. From there, I went to Van Buren coaching junior high boys basketball. I have 21 years of teaching/coaching experience.
I am married to Paige Jones. We have 3 children, Carsyn- 21, Kelton-15, and Camdyn-9. My hobbies include fishing, hunting, and attending my children’s activities/events. I am excited about being a part of the Dragon family. I started my career at a small school and love the hometown pride in these smaller school districts. GO DRAGONS!
Mrs. Nancy Robbins
Teaching is my lifelong passion and I love being part of students’ lives, so I am excited to be joining the Mountainburg Public Schools. I believe there is nothing more exciting or interesting than teaching. I have worked many years in education including 25 years as a teacher, and 20 years as an administrator. I have worked in the Fort Smith Public Schools and the Van Buren Public Schools. For most of my years as an administrator, I served as a Curriculum Director and Director of Federal Programs.
My husband, Stan, and I live in Fort Smith and have lived here our entire lives. We have two grown children, a son, and a daughter. I enjoy flower gardening, reading, and trips to the beach. My home is over 100 years old and one of my greatest joys is decorating it for the holidays and celebrating with family and friends. I love animals and I believe no home is complete without pets. I currently live with a cat named Stormy and I also hope to adopt a new lab puppy this fall.
I am thankful for the opportunity to work with all the teachers, staff, and students in Mountainburg Schools. I am proud to be a Dragon!
