February Updates
We have much to celebrate this month at Perry Creek! We enjoyed celebrating the positive behavior of our students with our Luau Day on February 5. We are wrapping up our FAST reading and math screenings and celebrating the growth and progress made. So many students made an exceptional amount of growth from fall to winter. We are also celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday and having classroom parties. At the end of the month, we look forward to sharing student progress and meeting with families virtually or by phone to hold our parent/teacher conferences.
Parent Teacher Conferences - Feb. 22 & 23
*Due to our conferences, there will be no school for elementary students on Monday, February 22 and Friday, February 26.
Please Help Us Be Safe at Drop Off and Pick Up
Please remember to follow our safety procedures for our driveway and parking lot:
1. Do not park in the driveway at any time.
2. Do not park in the crosswalk at any time.
3. There are two lanes in our driveway. Use ONLY the lane closest to the school building to drop off or pick up students. This lane should continue to move as students are dropped off and picked up.
4. Please be respectful of the crossing guard, as they are monitoring for student safety.
TK & Kindergarten Registration for 2021-2022
It is registration time for our incoming Prairie Dogs! We will hold in-person registration with mitigation routines in place on Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9. Prior to these days, families of incoming TK and Kindergarten students need to register online. Students must be 5 years of age by September 15, 2021.
We will not have school for current TK & Kindergarten students on April 8 & 9.

Teacher Appreciation Lunch Donations
It's conference time again and that means we need your help with our teacher and staff appreciation lunch!
As many of you know, our PTA traditionally solicits potluck donations with every conference season. In lieu of bringing a potluck dish this year, we are asking parents (or any other generous donors) to consider making a $10 donation to sponsor a teacher and a staff member's box lunch. Donating is simple, click on the PayPal link below and enter in your desired donation dollar amount.
Our luncheon will take place on Monday, Feb. 22nd.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED GENEROSITY!
We love our Perry Creek School.
Box Tops for Education
Every valid Box Tops clip is worth 10¢ for Perry Creek. Make sure each one has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date.
Box Tops - New Scanning Feature
Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.
If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for Perry Creek. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to our school's earnings online.
Hy-Vee Receipts - Cash For Students Program
Eligible receipts for groceries, prescriptions, floral, photoshop, and catering are accepted.
(No fuel, gas, postal, money order, Western Union, lottery, Quest, Mid American, bottle refunds or gift card receipts will be accepted.)
SCCSD Virtual Backpack
From camps to sports leagues to family services, the SCCSD Virtual Backpack serves as a link between non-profit community partners and our students and families.

Communication and Preparedness
Student and staff safety is of paramount importance in the Sioux City Community School District. For this reason, the District exercises a host of crisis prevention and planning tactics. Should an emergency occur, the school notifies you through our Blackboard phone system. In an emergency, the system calls every phone number associated with your child in order to reach you. The message will give you details about the emergency and provide directions on when/where to pick up your child if the normal school day is altered. Learn more about school safety.
