Seniors ... Prepare For the FAFSA By Creating Your FSA ID Now
Senior Students and Parents/Guardians! What should you be doing now to prepare for college? Create your FSA ID!
The 2024-2025 FAFSA is opening in December. The FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, determines the student’s eligibility for financial assistance to colleges and many other 2-year programs. To access the form, both the student AND contributing parents will need to create an FSA ID.
To create your FSA ID, go to https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch and create an account. Students will need their social security number and date of birth to create their ID. Parents/Guardians can create an ID even if they do not have a social security number! If a student does not have a social security number, there are other forms, such as the AACTUS, that can help them receive aid.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Ms. Reagan, this year’s College/Career Adviser! Email her at rwoitowitz@east-haven.k12.ct.us or schedule an appointment using this link: https://calendar.app.google/yLQwPPSjY7gtdw328.
