More information about Red Ribbon Week as well as resources and activities on how to stay drug free can be found linked below. We will have special dress up days from Monday, October 31st through Friday, November 4th.

Walker Elementary will host a school-wide Book Character Parade on Monday, October 31, at 8:00 a.m. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character. All students may carry their favorite book around for the parade. Parents are invited to attend. Please sit in the cafeteria. All grade levels will parade through the cafeteria.

Students may choose any character from a book they enjoy following the guidelines in this letter. To support students’ feelings of safety and security in our building, violent or frightening costumes are not allowed. No weapons or dangerous-looking items will be permitted to accompany a costume. Here are some examples of acceptable costume choices and some examples of unacceptable choices.

Each grade level will have a 45 minute game time in the cafeteria. Classes will rotate through activity stations that are run by Walker staff members and volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to help with your child’s classroom game rotations, please fill out and return the bottom portion of the form that your child brought home or let your child's teacher know that you are able to attend. We would love to have you!

Volunteers are needed during the following Activity Times:

Kindergarten 8:30-9:15

1st 9:30-10:15

2nd 10:30-11:15

3rd 12:15-1:00

5th 1:15-2:00

4th 2:15-3:00
