FULLER FAMILY NEWS

From the Principal's Desk
Hello Fuller Elementary Families!
As we bid farewell to a heartwarming Kindness Week, I am delighted to witness the positive impact it has had on our school community. The acts of compassion, generosity, and consideration displayed by our students have truly warmed our hearts.
Let us extend the spirit of kindness into February as we make it our Character Trait of the Month. Kindness is a value that knows no bounds, and it is my hope that we can collectively nurture a culture of empathy and understanding within our school.
Parents, your role in shaping the character of our students is invaluable. By demonstrating kindness in your interactions with one another and with our school community, you set a powerful example for our young learners. Remember, kindness is contagious, and the smallest act can make a significant difference.
In the spirit of fostering a supportive environment for all, I would like to remind everyone about the importance of giving grace. Each of us faces unique challenges, and a little understanding goes a long way in creating a harmonious community.
Additionally, I want to bring attention to two essential matters for the safety and well-being of our students:
No Early Check-Outs after 2:30pm: Ensuring the safety of all students is our top priority. We kindly request your cooperation in refraining from early check-outs after 2:30pm to facilitate a smooth dismissal process.
Lunch Visitors - Fire Lane Parking: For the safety of everyone, please refrain from parking in the Fire Lane when visiting during lunch hours. Towing and ticketing will be enforced to maintain clear access for emergency vehicles.
Thank you for your continued support in making Fuller Elementary a nurturing and respectful environment for all. Together, we can inspire a generation of compassionate individuals.
Remember, We are Fuller, We are Family!

School Store Fundraiser!
Hello Parents,
I want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.
If your family has not participated, there's still time!
This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.
Please help now. It really will make a difference.
Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000369738 to show our valued teachers your support.
Thanks
Jackie Fuller Elementary School
P.S. Family participation is the key to our success, and we are counting on you!

District Policy on Student Illness
Parents, if your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, please keep your student home until symptom free 24 hours without the use of medications. This will greatly reduce the spread of illness, and help us keep our Students, Faculty and Staff Healthy. Per our student handbook:
Illness (All Grade Levels)
"When your child is ill, please contact the school to let us know he or she will not be attending that day. State rules require schools to exclude students with certain illnesses from school for certain periods of time. For example, if a child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medications. Students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea-free without use of diarrhea-suppressing medications for 24 hours (p. 69)."
If your student is sent home from school due to illness they will need to be symptom free 24 hours prior to returning unless cleared by a healthcare provider and note provided. If your student is sent to school before 24 hours without a doctor's note, you will be called by the nurse to come pick up your student. If your student is to be out longer than 24 hours, please provide a parent or doctor's note and e-mail: sharrison@aubreyisd.net.
If your student is due or has had recent immunizations please e-mail them to Nurse Perlick at tperlick@aubreyisd.net so that she can keep your students records updated. If your student is behind on immunizations they will not be able to attend class and you will have to come pick up your student. These will also not be excused absences. Thank you for your help.
District Report Card
Parents,
In accordance with TEA the district is responsible for disseminating the state, LEA and campus-level report cards to parents of all enrolled students and posting them on our website. The report card has been linked below. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Report card can be located here
Thank you.
ATTENDANCE
Here at Fuller, our campus wide attendance goal is 96%.
During the first nine weeks of school, five grade levels met or exceeded the campus' attendance goal.
Here at Fuller, we will continue to recognize attendance, engage students and families, monitor attendance data, provide early outreach and respond to barriers of attendance.
Families, please remember a habit of attendance is a school readiness skill. If your child is going to be absent, please notify your child's classroom teacher and our campus registrar sharrison@aubreyisd.net.
PARENT/DOCTORS NOTES- Please be sure you emails regarding absences to sharrison@aubreyisd.net. You may also drop a hard copy of a parent or doctor's note in the front office. Parents, please email notes to Mrs. Harrison as well so that she can document absences as they occur. Once we come back from break, we will not be able to access semester 1 to adjust attendance. Thank you.

Parking Crosswalk
From the Nurse
Grade Level Newsletters
Arrival and Dismissal
*** Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and on school property ***
We also ask that bike riders walk their bikes when on campus for safety of all.
Thank you for your attention to this.
Dismissal Issue
When the cars park in the red marked areas, vehicles exiting the car line cannot exit safely without coming out in the street. So to prevent any accidents, I will be placing 6 cones in the area. I have suggested to parents who parked there, to pull up to the school zone sign and park there.
I have included a map of the location with "NO PARKING IN RED AREAS" on the map.
Important Information
- Anyone entering the building MUST be prepared to show ID BEFORE entering
- IDs or car tags will be checked at dismissal for car and walk ups.
- Please label all jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
- Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily.
- No visitors for lunch until after Labor Day.
- Instruction begins at 7:40 (students MUST be in seats by then)
- School day ends at 3:15
If you have any questions, email Mr. Smith at n.smith@aubreyisd.net

Attendance
Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.
A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.
In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
