From Rev. Mary
On Sunday, we began our exploration of the spiritual theme for May--Thresholds. I invited us to imagine ourselves in our doorways, our thresholds, waiting to emerge into the world again. Then I asked us to name and share what we had left behind, what we have lost, what we are mourning.
Here are some of the things we shared:
Students - The library
Hugs - Planned trips and travels
Celebrations like weddings, birthday parties, graduations, ordination
Performances like theater, concerts, the symphony

Quick Notes
ORDER OUT, DINE IN! On Tuesday, May 19, let’s come together to show the OUUC community’s support for our local restaurants! OUUC’s Faith in Action Ministry recognizes that independent businesses and their employees are severely impacted by coronavirus restrictions, so let’s help them out ordering a meal from your favorite local eatery to be delivered or picked up, and enjoyed at home.

Midsummer Online Auction, June 20 – 28
Welcome to OUUC’s 2020 Online Auction! The state of the world may be changed for the moment, but OUUC’s vital annual fundraiser carries on.
This year the auction has gone VIRTUAL—it will run entirely online.
Our Midsummer Online Auction will coincide with ancient Midsummer festivals timed around the summer solstice. You will have plenty of time—from June 20 (the solstice date) to June 28—to bid online.
No need this year to purchase tickets to an auction dinner. Savor the food and drink of your choice, snugly at home, while bidding online.
Success relies first on your DONATIONS of auction items. This year we hope to play it safe: Please consider donating with a focus on stay-at-home services, porch deliveries, virtual gatherings, games, staycations, gift cards, online demonstrations, unique handmade items and more. Be creative! Want some ideas? Check out the Auction Website.
DOLLARS matter. Our beloved community counts on your generosity both in donating and bidding. Help keep OUUC strong, especially in these extraordinary times. In addition to regular auction items, we’ll “raise the paddle” for some of the church’s own needs as well as those of our greater community.
With your help, we can do this.Questions? Contact Melanie Ransom.
Help the Kids to Help the Pets!
Supplies needed for the children's chosen Spring Service Project. They will be crafting cat and dog toys at home which will all be donated to the animal shelter. Our DRE, Sara Lewis, will put together kits of supplies for the kids, and needs the following: fleece, needles, and stuffing. If you have extra of those supplies and could donate them, please contact Sara Lewis to arrange a time she could pick them up from you.
