Good news!
The number of new COVID-19 cases in Klamath County this week (Sept. 20-26) was 7, putting the county at a 10 per 100,000 case rate, and well below the 30 per 100,000 case rate needed to continue our current school models. Students will continue to attend class under their current schedules.
More updates:
- LOST RIVER: Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, all Lost River Junior/Senior High School students will return to in-person classes four days a week, Monday through Thursday. Friday will remain a day for credit recovery, intervention, and office hours.
- CHILOQUIN SCHOOLS: Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, Chiloquin Elementary and Chiloquin Junior/Senior High will be moving to the next phase of reopening. Chiloquin Elementary will add kindergarten and first grade to the students already attending. These students will attend in the A-B hybrid model, doing in-person learning in the classroom two days a week (Monday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Thursday) and distance learning the remaining three days. Chiloquin Junior/Senior High School, all students (7th-12th grade) will begin attending under the A-B hybrid model, doing in-person learning in the classroom two days a week (Monday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Thursday) and distance learning the remaining three days.
Our next update on COVID-19-related school models will be Nov. 6 and will address any changes as of Nov. 30.
