Student Council
Project LEAD Summer Camp
Want to be part of an exciting summer leadership opportunity? Project LEAD summer camp is being held from June 11 -15 from 9 am-2pm at Oak Grove School. Check the virtual backpack for a flyer which includes a parent permission form. Project LEAD parent permission forms are due by February 9.
Reminder for Parent Pick-Up Notes
Kindergarten through 4th Grade - Just a reminder that if your plans for picking up your child change (ex. student being picked up instead of riding the bus), we need a paper note to be shared with the classroom teacher.
Please don’t email the teachers as they might not see the email during the day.
Thank you for your cooperation, as this process helps us maintain efficient and safe dismissal procedures.

8th Grade Dance Committee Seeking Volunteers
The 8th grade dance will be held on Friday, May 25 from 7:00-10:00 pm. Thank you to all the amazing parent volunteers who attended the planning meeting this past Wednesday. If you were not able to attend the meeting, and are interested in helping with decorations, food, set-up or clean-up for this awesome event, please contact Krista Sorensen at krista.sorensen4@gmail.com or Regenia Agee at regeniaagee@gmail.com. Students will be voting this week on a theme for the dance. Committees are forming now and will be meeting soon to brainstorm and plan some fun and creative ideas. Please join us to help make this a special and memorable event for our 8th grade graduates!

Did you hear we are having two TAG parent night events coming up?
February 13th, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Junior High gym - We invite parents who have students currently in third or fifth grade to learn more about the TAG program and placement process. Please RSVP here.
March 17th, from 1:30 - 4 pm in the Junior High end of OGS, parents will participate in an informational session focused on identifying strengths and weaknesses in gifted children to distinguish and support their learning styles while students in K-8 participate in STEM activities.

Volunteer Opportunities -- WE NEED YOU!
The Oak Grove Gala Committee is seeking individuals to lend a hand. We need volunteers for small shifts on the night of the event for registration/check-in, monitoring/closing auction tables, supporting the paddle raise/live auction and check out. Daddy Daughter Dance
Liz Howard and her committee held the Oak Grove School Daddy Daughter Dance this weekend. Almost 200 girls and their dads or special guys enjoyed dancing to DJ Chris Colten, photo booths, entertainment by the Barefoot Hawaiian dancers, Kona shaved ice, raffle prizes and of course, special time with their favorite guys. The decorating committee led by Jaime Cotts & Anik Obourn transformed the Junior high gym and cafeteria into a Hawaiian paradise. It looked amazing! This event was a huge success thanks to all the volunteers that showed up to help out. 5th graders, Brady Roe and Kaden Kovach, are collecting items for the animals at
Orphans of the Storm. Collection boxes will be just outside the elementary and junior high offices. You can help them by donating the following items:
- newspaper
- old blankets or towels
- dog bones, chewy toys, treats, balls
- cat trees, treats, toys
- brushes
- human baby food
- cat litter
- baking soda
