Richard Bausch, author, professor and OCSA parent, joined OCSA students and teachers on Friday morning, March 12 to read his short story, Isolation, and share his wisdom and insights from a successful writing career.

Leadership students getting ready for the 1st day!

On Friday, March 12, Leadership students were on campus getting posters and other signage ready for the 1st days of school. There was great energy in the hallways as students gathered to get ready for the return!

Harper's students participate in Spirit Week!

During last week's spirit activities, Courtney Harper (academic, Lit & Comp) and her students got into class colors day. Thanks for bringing the 7th graders into the OCSA culture!

Important Reminders from the Administrative Team

Orange County is officially in the Red Tier

Orange County was officially placed into the Red Tier on Friday, March 12, paving the way for schools and businesses to reopen. This readjustment on the tier assignments was largely due to vaccine distribution efforts across the state as well as continued adherence to social distancing and mask wearing. Thank you for your efforts to get us to this point!

All systems go to resume in-person learning on Monday, March 22.

Spring Semester Norms for Teachers - Refresh and Recommit

Normalcy has been redefined when students return to campus on March 22.
Normalcy continually needs recalibration for those students who remain distance.
Refresh and recommit accordingly for the remainder of the year.

OCSA Teacher Professional Development with Matthew R. Kay - Thursday, March 18

Hope you are looking forwards to Thursday's Professional Development session featuring Matthew R. Kay, author of Not Light, But Fire.

Areas of Focus : Although the presentation will touch upon various topics discussed in the book, Mr. Kay will largely focus on chapters one and three. Teachers are encouraged to review those chapters in preparation for the Professional Development.

PPE in the Classrooms

Every classroom has been supplied with wipes, disinfectant and hand sanitizer. When you need a refill, please bring it to Humanities Tower T100 to swap for a full one.

Daily Health Screening Self Assessment

When in-person learning resumes on Monday, March 22, students and staff will need to review the questions on this document to self-assess if they are well enough to go to campus. Staff and students will no longer submit a daily health screening form except in certain situations. The Health Screening Form will only be utilized for campus visitors and during the following times:

Monday - Thursday, 4:15 PM - 8:00 PM
Fridays, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturdays, All Day

Why do OCSA employees and students need to continue to submit this?

In the event of a campus emergency or if contact tracing needs to be conducted, the names submitted will help staff to conduct their job duties associated with the situation.
