Crawford's Corner... A Message from the Principal
Welcome back Cougars! August 21, 2017 – the first day of school – was filled with exciting events. We started the day with our first pep fest and Dr. Cruz, our superintendent, visited our Construction, Print Making, and Entrepreneurship classes. And students and teachers were thrilled to be back on campus. We are happy to have students back in our classrooms and hallways, filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our Crockett Cougar family. I can already see our Cougar Pride emanating through each of you!
As I begin my second year as your principal, I want us to remain committed to the practices we put in place last year – making the Six C’s a part of everything we do. Communication, Connectivity, Collaboration, Creativity, Cultural Proficiency, and Critical Thinking. By working together to reinvent the urban school, we will be able to offer diverse programming, expanded curriculum, and educational experiences that will prepare our students for this ever-changing world.
I am honored to serve as the principal of Crockett ECHS. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, students, and community members care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that encourage and support academic and social growth. Thank you for everything that you do that makes Crockett Always Victorious!

EXTRA STUDENT HOLIDAY FOR CROCKETT STUDENTS THIS SCHOOL YEAR
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
Austin ISD is designated as a Texas Education Agency District of Innovation (DOI), which allows AISD schools to adjust their schedules and calendars to meet the needs of the school community.
As part of the DOI, the Crockett Vertical Team (Boone, Cunningham, Galindo, Joslin, Odom, Pleasant Hill, St. Elmo, Sunset Valley, and Williams) received approval on our proposal to change the official dismissal time of all CVT elementary schools in order to provide an extra professional development day for our teachers. The Crockett DOI plan was discussed with the members of each school’s Campus Advisory Councils as well as community members and staff.
Starting August 21, 2017 the dismissal time for all Crockett Vertical Team elementary schools was adjusted to 3:00 p.m. daily. This slight adjustment in our dismissal time allows us to add an additional professional development day in our calendar for our staff. As a result, Friday, November 10 will be a professional development day for all CVT schools, including Crockett, Bedichek and Covington. This day will provide teachers additional time to plan lessons, analyze data, and engage in professional learning to better serve our students. To ensure all Austin ISD students have access to healthy meals, Food Service will be offering a limited menu for both breakfast and lunch on all District of Innovation Vertical Team Professional Development Days.
Friday, November 10, 2017, is designated as a holiday for students and a professional development day for teachers.
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free call me at 512-414-7806.
Sincerely,
Kori Crawford
Principal
Crockett High School
Atentamente,
Kori Crawford
