Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single
event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in
which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened.

We have a pumpkin carving volunteering opportunity coming up in Kindergarten! Be on the look-out for information in your child’s folder!
Grade 1:
Math:
-The children are learning a variety of strategies to solve subtraction word problems. Please refer to the daily flyers for follow-up at home.
E/LA:
Fundations instruction has begun. We are learning proper formation of lowercase letters.
Guided reading groups are up and running in all classes.
Spooky seasonal stories and writing assignments are being enjoyed by the students.
Science:
First graders are making tops, mobiles and all other types of things that roll, spin and twirl! They are learning about all types of “motion”.
Our science kits continue to be a source of fun and hands on learning for all students.
Other:
It was wonderful to see so many of you at Open House. If you did not yet sign up for a parent conference on Wed. Nov. 25, please contact your child’s teacher for availability.

Grade 2:
Math:
Students are continuing to work on place value through 999. They should still be practicing the basic addition and subtraction facts nightly.
E/LA:
The second graders are continuing to work on narratives and journal writing. Perhaps we’ll write some spooky stories!
Children are continuing to read both fiction and non-fiction books both independently and in small groups.
Other:
