Texas Strategic Leadership
Miles ISD is in the process of developing a Strategic Plan for the next 5 years. This program is conducted by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through a program called Texas Strategic Leadership. There are 6 main Levers (Pillars) to complete for this project. They are Planning and Performance Management (vision, mission, strategic plan), Talent (staffing, recruitment, growth and retention of staff), Integrated Student Supports (Culture, Behavior, Safety, Student Support, Early Childhood), Academic Experience (Academic Rigor, Curriculum and Instruction, College and Career Readiness), Instructional Capacity Building (Leadership and Development, Instructional Planning and Delivery, Data Driven Instruction, Assessment Reflection, and Targeted Supports), and Finance and Operations (Teacher and Student Time, Budget and Finance, Enrollment and Access, Technology, Site Operations). Miles ISD will look at facility capacity and needs during this time as well.
This process will require all stakeholders to be involved, and we encourage you to let us know what your thoughts are through the survey that will be provided today. This survey will be available from September 22nd to October 6th. Please take the time to fill that out and let us know what we are doing correctly and what we can do to improve the education of our students. Miles ISD is the pillar of the community and we need your help in driving us in the right direction.

Other News
Miles ISD is committed to securing our campus and keeping our students safe at all times. Therefore, starting Monday September 25th, College Street, between the OLD Gym and Football Field will be closed to traffic. Although this is a minor inconvenience to some, it provides safety to our students and staff members who walk in between these buildings. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to call me.
