Fall Festival Was A Huge Success!
We sure know how to party here at Bernardo! A huge thank you to Keith Black, Karen Stephenson, Andrea Ingold, and Bonnie Kaull for all of their hard work in planning and executing an amazing fall festival.
Thank you to everyone who donated towards and purchased the incredible auction baskets. Last, thank you to all of our volunteers who helped with set up, tear down, running games, spirit wear sales, and so much more. You gave our students a night to remember!
Red Ribbon Week
Next week is Red Ribbon Week, when we celebrate the importance of making healthy choices with some fun dress-up days. See the flyer below for details about each day's theme.
Late Student Pick-Up Process
We realize that life happens and that there are days when we all run late. When students are not picked up within 15 minutes after dismissal, we bring them to the office until someone arrives to ensure that students are safely supervised.
Beginning on Monday, October 23, if you arrive late for pick-up and your child is waiting in the office, please plan on parking your car and coming into the office to sign out your child with your ID handy. This is a new district-wide process for late pick-ups and we appreciate your cooperation.
PTA Parent Parking Spot
Each month, we randomly draw the name of a PTA member who wins the yellow PTA parking spot. If you are not the monthly winner, please do not park in that spot. Even if it is empty when you arrive, the winning family may be coming later and it's a bummer (and a bit rude) when someone else has taken the spot.
Costume Parade
Students are invited to wear costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31 if they wish. Please ensure that costumes are elementary-age appropriate without any weapons, masks, blood, or gore. If your child will wear a costume to school, please send a change of clothes to school so that he/she can change out of their costume following the parade.
We will hold a costume parade on campus at 8:15 that morning out on the playground and we're excited to invite parents to come and watch! We'll open the gates at 8:05 for you to come on in (no need to sign-in at the office for this event). Be sure to bring your cameras as the students have been working on a little dance that they'll be performing.
Veterans Day Celebration on November 9
We invite all of our Veterans and Active-Duty family and friends to join us for our Veterans Day celebration that will take place on Thursday, November 9 at 8:15.
If you or someone you know would like to be our guest for this special day please Click Here or on the flyer below to access an RSVP form. Even if you or your guest cannot attend but you would like to include photos, please fill out the form.
