The "Little Women" cast and crew are working diligently, preparing for their May 25 performance. The Music Theater Workshop class is busy rehearsing "Little Mermaid Jr." The Vocal Power students are preparing their "Vocal Showcase." 8th Grade members of 7/8 Singers/Showsies will be recording the "Star Spangled Banner" after school on Monday and before school on Tuesday. Sending all positive thoughts to our Maine South alum, Ava Barruffi, as she competes this week to represent Illinois at the Jimmy Awards in New York!

The "Little Mermaid Cast," is "off book" in MTW Class. During Music 6, students completed their World Music presentations! I will be linking a few projects each week! In Keyboard Class students performed songs with eighth note and sixteenth note combinations. Learning "the WIld Horseman" and "Für Elise" were popular choices. The Vocal Power Singers performed their Disney songs and started selecting the music for their "Vocal Showcase."

In the past, Leads have written a note to the next person to play their role. They give advice on how to portray the character, handle performance jitters, and reminisce about their favorite moment. Keep the tradition going!

Sending good thoughts to MS and Alum, Ava Barruffi, as she competes for the state title this week!

We need to upgrade our sixteen year old sound system. Six of our microphone units are no longer useable. We are switching to a digital microphone system that will prevent feedback and improve the quality of sound. We will also be able to use rechargeable batteries which will be a huge savings. We use our Sound System for the Musical, Vocal Power, and Music Theater Workshop classes as well as additional performances. Please participate in our fundraisers whenever possible! THANK YOU ALL. Special thanks to Donna Zorba-O'Brien and Tina Serio for organizing the Dine to Donate at D'Agostino's Pizza and Pub Niles! D'Agostino's is donated 15% of all sales from Tuesday, March 7!
