Mr. Farina's Weekly Wrap-Up

As we conclude this week and prepare for a short week upcoming our students and staff are excited for nice extended break as the seasons continue to change! As a reminder to families, students will begin Fall Break on Thursday, November 25th and will return to school on Tuesday, November 30th. This week upcoming, we will be operating on early dismissal schedules as our Middle School students will dismiss at noon and our Intermediate School students will dismiss at 1PM.

We are excited this evening for the return of our Little Shopper's Village at the Elementary School. Our PTC has been hard at work preparing this fun family event. Feel free to come out and shop, participate in the raffles, and meet guests such as Elsa and Santa Claus. The event will run from 6PM-8PM.

This week also saw some new energy in the school as Winter student activities are back in full swing! This week our Middle School Winter Sports (Basketball and Wrestling) started their seasons and our 5-8 Music students are in full preparation for our Winter Concerts, which will occur on December 7th (5th and 6th Grade) and December 9th (7th and 8th Grade).

As we enter the holiday shopping season, many of us utilize the convenience of online shopping. There are two online shopping methods that can be used that benefit the PTC. First, shop with Amazon Smile. Visit https://smile.amazon.com and follow the prompts to select Brandywine Heights PTC as your charity of choice and the PTC will receive a portion back on eligible purchases. The second method is utilizing the School Store. Go to www.schoolstore.net and enter the applicable school code (284446 for the Elementary School or 364584 for the Intermediate School) and then login using the credentials you established during the School Store fundraiser back in September or create an account if you haven’t already. Once logged in, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “shop featured merchants.” You can shop on the website of hundreds of stores like Macy’s, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Hobby Lobby, etc. and the PTC will receive a donation on eligible purchases. Please note, shopping from the merchant websites on School Store does NOT go toward your child’s prize points.

Purchases using either method not only benefit the PTC during the holiday shopping season but throughout the entire school year provided you continue to use the above websites. Feel free to share the above websites with your family and friends to reach additional supporters of the PTC. The PTC thanks you for your ongoing support of the programs that benefit the students and teachers and wish all family a wonderful holiday season.

Our school is partnering with Weis Markets in the Weis 4 School program. By participating in this program, we can earn money for our school simply by shopping at Weis Markets. When you shop at Weis, scan the barcode below to register your Weis Club Card. Once you register, you’re in the program and you do not need to register again. Then simply scan your Club Card on all future Weis shopping trips. Share this barcode with family and friends so they can earn points for our school too. Thank you for supporting our school!
