Principal's Message
Good afternoon CHS students and families,
It has been another fun and busy week at CHS. Students participated in mock interviews to practice their interviewing skills; we had an assembly to celebrate the successful fundraising campaign to support local families; and we held the fall sports awards ceremony to celebrate our fall athletes. Please check out the list of talented all league athletes below.
Congratulations to MacKenzie Bigej who finished 2nd in State in Cross Country, the women’s soccer team who made the quarterfinals of the state playoffs, and the football team who competed in the first round of the state playoffs. We are also so #canbyproud of our thespians who are finishing up a few showings of Macbeth this weekend.
Looking forward, please remember that there is no school tomorrow as we honor our Veterans. Thanks to all who sacrificed and served our country. Additionally, we will have a Secure Drill on Monday of next week. A “secure” is when we lock all outside doors to prevent a threat from entering the building. Classes will happen as usual inside during the drill as we test our system to make sure it is functioning properly. We practice monthly drills as they are required by law.
1st trimester is winding down, and there are school breaks for Veterans’ Day holiday and Thanksgiving coming up. It is a good time to pay close attention to StudentVue, grades, and assignments. Attendance is also key to student success. Research shows that missing just one day every two weeks affects a student’s chance of graduating on time. Thank you for making good attendance a priority. We appreciate your partnership!
Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Cari Sloan
