Raptor ID Check System
Dear parents and guardians,
We would like to make you aware of a security upgrade at all of our schools. Beginning Monday, Nov. 27, all visitors who enter a school building during normal school hours will be required to check into the school office and present a valid Identification ( Drivers License, State Issued ID, Military ID, or Consular ID ). Upon arrival, your identification will be scanned using the Raptor Visitor Management System. This software was purchased using funds provided by the State of Wisconsin School Safety Grant. Raptor provides immediate, real-time background checks on individuals to identify sex offenders and deny them entry. Once a visitor has been scanned, the system will print a visitor ID badge that is worn by the visitor for the duration of their visit. We ask that the visitor present their ID each time they visit and a new visitor badge will be printed. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding with this new procedure and know that you share our desire to keep our students and our buildings safe. Thank you.

Present: Robert Blessington, Haley Draeger, Jody Jackson, Nancy Roncke, Jaime Dittman, Tamra Eagle, Lori Loeschmann, Laura Menzer
Start Time: 6:10 pm
Agenda Items Discussed
New Business
Cheri Sylla, WSPEI Family Engagement Coordinator presented on WI Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative program - Grant received from DPI that this organization is looking to use to help fund literacy based events targeting special education students and their families. SDW would receive a stipend for planning activities at our school focused on reading and literacy. This would target special education students and families but be open to all families and students. We must have a required 4 session (1-1.5 hour each session) literacy event, which can include food, childcare, books, teachers, librarians, etc. The organization could also help with existing events. Slideshow presentation is not yet translated but will be soon. Questions that came up: Could presentation location be moved into the neighborhoods vs school. Could we get good attendance? Site Council did not decide anything, want to look at the presentation online first. Other event ideas...book study, transition night for students with IEP but include all students- planning for college/career, job fair.
End Time: 7:15 pm
