East Fallowfield Elementary School held it's 21st annual Patriot Day ceremony on Friday, September 9th. Senator Carolyn Comitta and Chester County Commissioner Michelle Kichline were in attendance and spoke to the students about the importance of service and shared gratitude towards first responders.

Representatives from East Fallowfield Police Department, Borough of South Coatesville Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Chester County Sheriff’s Office, Modena Fire Company, and Westwood Fire Company also attended the ceremony.

Thank you to retired EF teacher, Nina Petro for organizing the event and a huge shout out to our students who were a tremendous audience! We are so Big East Proud of them!

Mr. Dupre's fourth grade class logged into IXL last week and loved it! IXL is one of our online math resources that allow students to strengthen and practice their math skills. Students are also able to access IXL outside of school for additional at-home practice.

This year at East Fallowfield we are revamping our PBIS program and focusing on our Big East Expectations of Safety, Ownership, Acceptance and Respect. Last week, students had the opportunity to learn what these expectations look like, sound like, and feel like in different areas around the school including the classroom, cafeteria, playground, bus, hallway, and bathrooms.

Students are so excited to be rewarded for meeting these expectations with Class Dojo points. Parents please be sure to accept the Class Dojo invite from your child's teacher so you can track the great work they are doing in class.

This is a reminder that all ticketed athletic events at the high school campus require an electronic/mobile game ticket.

Tickets are sold on our website at www.casdschools.org/athletics or by downloading the Hometown Fan App on their mobile device.

There are also no bags permitted in our venues (see attached) and all students in grades K-7 must be accompanied by an adult at all times (attached).

This year your child has the opportunity to participate in Chorus, Band and/or Orchestra! We encourage students to participate in these music ensembles to help develop many lifelong skills. Chorus rehearsals will take place during the school day. Band and Orchestra small group lessons will take place during the school day, with whole group rehearsals before school. Talk with your child about the possibility of trying one (or two!) of these music ensembles this year and contact us with any questions.

2nd year instrumental students will be receiving more information soon about lessons and rehearsals. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 14th for our district instrumental informational meeting at Rainbow Elementary at 7:00 pm.

Our PTO is having our first pretzel sale of the year. Order forms have gone home with students so please be on the lookout for them. Orders are due this Friday, September 16th and pretzels will be delivered on Wednesday, September 21st. If you need an extra order form, the PDF forms are linked below in both English and Spanish.

Our teachers do incredible work and the Adopt-A-Coatesville Teacher program is a fabulous way to recognize our amazing staff! You can adopt a teacher by visiting the website here: ADOPT A COATESVILLE TEACHER. Once on the site, click the red apple icon that says, "SIGN UP."

Please read below for important breakfast and lunch information from our Food Services Department.

• Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students again this year.
• Snacks and beverages will be available at an additional charge (this will begin after the first couple weeks of school).
• Parents may add funds to their student’s food service account through SchoolCafe (www.schoolcafe.com/CoatesvilleASD ). Instructions are located on our website, and are also attached.
• We would like to avoid cash transactions at the registers for students and adults.
• Funds may be deposited through SchoolCafe
• Money may be brought down to the Food Service Manager in the morning to put on the person’s account.
• Students will use our barcode scanners to check out at the register.
• ID Cards will be provided by your school’s Food Service Manager for all students.
