This Week's Standards

Math
In math this week we will be focusing on standard 4.OA.3. Students will be able to solve multistep word problems. These word problems will include the four operations (+, -, x, /).

ELA
In ELA this week we will be focusing on standard RI.4.7. Students will be able to identify and interpret text features in informational texts using both print and digital sources. Some text features we'll be discussing are:
  • Titles & Subtitles
  • Headings & Subheadings
  • Bold & Italicized Words
  • Table of Contents & Index
  • Glossary
  • Photos & Illustrations
  • Captions
  • Maps
  • Charts & Graphs

This Week's Work Samples

Ms. Frehner will be out of the office on Friday, December 6th; therefore, work samples will need to be completed outside of our regularly scheduled class time.

i-Ready

Students should have completed both the reading and math i-Ready assessments last week. If you have not yet finished these assessments, please log in to i-Ready and finish them TODAY!

Event Information

Winter Skate Party

Let's skate! Join us at the Crystal Palace Skating Center on 3901 N Rancho Dr. The cost of $8.50 covers admission, skate rental, two pieces of pizza, drink, and four game tokens. Adults do not have to pay to attend.

Writing Workshop

Our next writing workshop will be covering Composition 4: Unit 3 - Writing a Book Review. You may skip this unit in your composition course until we get to it in January.
