Dear Blue Parents,
As an educator, the first few days of school are my absolute favorite! Everyone is excited and anticipating a wonderful school year, and so am I.
I have really enjoyed getting into the classrooms and meeting your children. I was so happy to see all of my returning students, and very excited to give a warm welcome to all of our new students! The past week has been very successful, and our students are already learning many great things.
We have a new face in the Blue Academy front office. Mrs. Park, our secretary, has retired after over twenty years, and we wish her all the best in her next journey. Our new secretary is Carissa Wertz! Mrs. Wertz is a Decatur Proud football mom, and is extremely happy to begin her new job!
We are also implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Support) this year and have come up with some awesome reinforcements and rewards! You will hear your children talk about receiving HAWK "High Five" Notes for displaying positive behavior and character traits. As I enter my sixth year as Principal of the Blue Academy, I am extremely Decatur Proud to be here and love every minute I get to spend with your kids! Thank you for allowing me this awesome task! Go Blue! Go HAWKS!
