SUPERINTENDENT CORNER

Dear Lester Prairie School District Staff and Families,

This week it was a joy to represent our Lester Prairie School District at the State Capitol with a group of regional Superintendents to advocate for our students. We met with several State Senators and Representatives to tell our district stories on how some proposed legislation could impact our local students, staff, districts, and communities. The lawmakers that met with us included Senator Mark Johnson (Senate Minority Leader), Senator Gary Dahms, Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, Representative Ron Kresha, Representative Joe Schomacker, and Representative Marj Fogelman. I was impressed that these busy lawmakers took the time to listen and dialogue with us.

ACTIVITIES UPDATES FROM MS. WOLFF:

The 5th-12th Grade Band Concert is on Monday, March 20 at 7:30 PM in the North Gym.

A FREE Medicare Information session will be provided on Monday March 27 6:00-7:00 PM at LP School. Contact Kelly Elling to register.

The 55+ Driver Discount scheduled for Thursday March 23 at LP School has been cancelled due to lack of registrants.

A CPR/AED/First Aid class will be held Wednesday April 19 at 5:30 at LP School. Cost is $40. Contact Kelly Elling to register.

We have the following extracurricular positions currently available:

JV/Assistant Varsity Volleyball

C Squad Volleyball

We are looking for umpires for our JH Softball games. Certification is not required, but knowledge of the game is a must. Please contact our Activities Office if interested (320-395-3005).
