Class 7 - Forest Class
From the students to Tom Shelstad, our Fall Orientation trip organizer:
"I am very grateful to you for planning this magnificent, yet challenging, trip to Lava Beds National Monument. I am impressed by your ability to be so flexible as to change gears and plans from a coast trip to a caving trip!" ~Lucas
"I really enjoyed when we had a moment when we all gathered. I felt like everyone was being super supportive and kind to one another. Thank you for being open and willing to turn back at any moment if someone had the need. I think it was your support and determination that kept us going in those caves." ~Wren
"I also had fun just hanging out at the campsite and around the fire, telling stories" ~Evelyn
"Tom, your hilarious humor kept us happy in even the darkest of times (pun intended)." ~Celia
Class 2 - Second Grade
I am so proud of the second grade for their play last week! Now, with Michaelmas behind us we are moving into our first math block. The focus will be on place value. Ms. Susie Squirrel is back and has opened a bakery where she sells cookies in packages of one, ten and even boxes of a hundred! Tomorrow we will be walking to the Fire Station and the Fire Fighters have agreed to give us a little tour! The children are very excited.

House for Sale or Rent Close to School
Just a short walk from the Siskiyou School is a move-in ready house waiting for a new owner! Siskiyou School families have lived in this house for years, and it is time for a new owner to take over. The house is single level, 1,800 square feet, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, is open and inviting, and includes a bonus room (two thirds of the garage has been converted to a finished room). There are vaulted ceilings; a wonderful, spacious kitchen with touch faucet, Bosch dishwasher, and brand new GE stainless steel refrigerator, gas stove, and microwave; an oversized primary bedroom and bathroom with two sinks and large shower; fresh paint inside and out; light-colored wood trim, doors, and cabinets; wood floors in the kitchen and entry and wool carpets throughout the living areas and bedrooms; gas fireplace; heat and AC; LG front loading washer and dryer; low maintenance front and backyards with a sprinkler system; fenced backyard; garage perfect for bike and other storage with a full size freezer; and a flat driveway with only a single step into the house. Wonderful, friendly neighborhood with ample green spaces and access to a community garden plot. I loved raising my kids in this home and neighborhood! Also, if you know of someone who might like a short-term rental and can keep the house clean for showings, I would consider renting it month to month until it sells--it is already lightly furnished. Feel free to contact me for any rental questions or my realtor Ray Pettengell (Siskiyou School alumni parent) if you are interested! Thank you! - Katie LaCroix, 2693 Takelma Way, 206-793-5467. Ray can be reached at 530-905-2211.
Reflexology Offered
Dear Siskiyou school, my name is Eva Berg and I am an Alumni of Ghigs Razi’s class of 2013. I recently got certified in Reflexology and I have opened up a practice here in Ashland Oregon. I am writing to offer Reflexology to the community as well as to all the families of the Siskiyou school. Reflexology is a holistic way to release tension and promote healing throughout the entire body. There are over 7,200 nerve endings in each foot, and Reflexology gently stimulates these nerve endings removing tension and blockages. Each nerve ending corresponds to a part of the body, so essentially by working just on the feet you are working on the entire body. The benefits of reflexology may include it’s ability to increase circulation, reduce anxiety, improve immune function, migraine relief, better sleep, and raise energy levels. Reflexology also promotes emotional equilibrium, but most importantly it provides deep relaxation for the nervous system. I am excited to be offering this healing modality.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
1 hour session: $95
45 min student session: $65
