Mask Update
Caldwell Parents,
I want to update you on some precautions we’re taking in light of an increase in COVID positive cases within our schools.
We are closely monitoring the level of staff and student absences and the level of COVID positive cases and making school-by-school decisions.
Based on positive cases and absence levels, we are requiring students and staff at Van Buren and Washington Elementary to wear masks as a method to help reduce the spread of the virus and reduce quarantine time for students and staff who may be exposed. This requirement will go into effect on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, and will remain in place at least through Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
Our goal is to keep school open and students attending every day.
We encourage our families to support this goal by doing the following to reduce the spread of the virus in our schools:
Please do not send your children to school if they are sick;
If your child is waiting on a COVID test result please do not send them to school;
Please consider getting a COVID vaccination for individuals age 5 or older in your family. Recently, the Pfizer vaccine was fully approved by the FDA. Here’s a site to schedule an appointment: https://phd3.idaho.gov/covid19/#Vaccine; and
While masks remain recommended at the remaining schools for students and staff, please consider having your child wear a mask at school.
We appreciate your partnership during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Dr. N. Shalene French
Superintendent
